I had the extreme pleasure of speaking at the Decoration & Design Building in NYC earlier this year about my design aesthetic Modernique, and I am SO honored and thrilled to returning to the D & D next week!! This time, it’s all about FASHION and INTERIOR DESIGN. Two of my fave things.

As part of their Fall Market Days, I will be joined by amazing fashion designer Ralph Rucci and Barbara Bundy, VP Education at the Los Angeles Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising for From the Runway to Residence, for a panel discussion exploring the intersection of fashion and interior design.  And who better to moderate than Mieke ten Have, Home Editor at Vogue magazine.

Whether it is color, patterns, textures, materials…this list could go on and on…fashion and interior designers often share the same fabulous taste in style-and sometimes blurring the lines between the two!

I noticed several similarities in trends from Ralph’s latest fashion show and one of my favorite pillow vendors, Pyar & Co….

Designer Proenza Schouler was right on target with Pyar’s new fringed pillow as well!

I do LOVE me some Louboutin as well….These fab heels go right along with the fabric I chose to reupholster these antique french gilded chairs in my Chicago Showroom

Of course I can’t resist a pop of hot pink in any space! Do ya like the pink ottoman in a recent North Shore project of mine? Kind of crushing on those shoes too….

Fur is a huge trend in both fashion and design….I sported some in a recent project in the entryway for some whimsy + surprise.

And the same similar vibrant colors can often be seen both in the rooms that I design and the runway!

And last, but certainly not least…in one of my latest projects were these ah-mazing fringed chairs from Bradley! I cannot even tell you how excited I am for my Fringe Lanvin bag this season :)

I can’t wait to talk more fashion and interior design with my esteemed cohorts at the D & D on Thursday, Oct 16 at noon.

Space is limited and reserving a seat a huge plus. For more information, visit the D & D here. Hope to see y’all there!

Then up next, High Point Market. It’s going to be a whirlwind October fer sure.

XX, Julia
